I got into design in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown. I started out as a graphic designer, creating flyers
and simple logos for clients. A few months in, I became more interested in the bigger picture of how brands
communicate, so I began exploring brand identity design. This led me to work with different clients, helping
them build visual identities that were not only attractive, but also memorable and meaningful.
In 2022, my curiosity shifted toward digital products. I found myself wondering how apps worked, how they
were built, and how design influenced the way people interacted with them. That curiosity introduced me to
product design. I took a few courses, taught myself extensively, and eventually decided to make a full
transition into product design.
That same year, I got an internship opportunity at a fintech startup in Nigeria. It was an important turning
point in my journey because it gave me the opportunity to apply what I had learned to real products and real
users. Since then, I've continued working with founders, startups, and businesses, which has helped me grow
as a designer and develop the ability to take ideas from early concepts to polished, thoughtful experiences.
I enjoy turning abstract ideas into clear, engaging interfaces and cohesive brand systems.
My approach to design is rooted in understanding people — how they think, interact, and connect with
products. I believe good design should go beyond looking good; it should be intuitive, purposeful, and
grounded in real user needs. I pay close attention to detail, consistency, and storytelling, making sure
every touchpoint contributes to a meaningful experience.
Today, I'm also expanding into design engineering, combining my design foundation with growing technical
skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and no-code tools. Learning how products are built allows me to
think beyond the interface, design with stronger technical awareness, and collaborate more effectively with
developers. I'm interested in bridging the gap between design and development and bringing ideas closer to
reality.
Outside of digital design, I'm drawn to fashion and style. I'm fascinated by how people use clothing,
culture, and personal style as forms of expression, and that interest naturally influences how I think about
aesthetics, composition, and visual identity.
For me, design is an ongoing journey of curiosity, experimentation, and growth. I'm constantly learning,
refining my craft, and looking for better ways to turn ideas into experiences that people can genuinely
connect with.
